Online Graduate Education Program Among Best in Nation
BUFFALO, NY – The latest education ranking by U.S. News & World Report recognizes Canisius College’s online master’s degree program in education as among the best in the nation. Housed in the college’s School of Education and Human Services, Canisius’ CAEP-accredited graduate education program offers online degrees in education technologies and emerging media, educational leadership and supervision, literacy education, physical education and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL). This is the first time U.S. News & World Report named Canisius to its list of Best Online Graduate Education Programs.
“To be included in this 2018 ranking is the result of much hard work by our faculty who have dedicated themselves to developing flexible, hands-on curricula for educators who want to gain the skills and experience required to make a significant impact on student learning,” says Jeffrey R. Lindauer, PhD, dean of the School of Education and Human Services.
Of the 291 colleges and universities included on the list of Best Online Graduate Education Programs, Canisius came in at #131. The rankings considered five general categories: student engagement, student services and technology, admissions selectivity, faculty credentials and training, and peer reputation. U.S. News recognized Canisius for providing students with opportunities to interact readily with their instructors and classmates. The ranking also acknowledged the number of available student resources for leaning assistance, career guidance and financial aid.
The School of Education and Human Services at Canisius prepares highly effective, socially committed professionals who value the Jesuit traditions of social justice and leadership through service.
One of 28 Jesuit colleges in the nation, Canisius is the premier private college in Western New York.
